So what about The Honky Tonk Dilettantes? Hailing from Vancouver B.C., we are an eclectic acoustic roots group that loves to sing and play good old fashioned country music, bluegrass, Western/Texas swing, and whatever else strikes our fancy.

Starting as a trio, we’re very pleased to say we now usually have metal slide and percussion players in our shows. See our Events page listings to find out who’s set to play at any particular show.

We’ve heard tell our tight vocal harmonies will bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye.

Lordy Mama masquerading as Dolly Parton

Lorraine “Lordy Mama” Cobb

Lorraine has lent her soaring voice and driving guitar to The Mountain Bluebirds, Viper Central, and the popular stringband Shout! White! Dragon! She saws on the fiddle some, too.

Sparky Spurr masquerading as Jolene

Paula “Sparky” Spurr

Bassist and singer Paula has been a DJ on the radio, a VJ on the TV and is an actress on stage and screens small and large. A veteran of Vancouver’s vibrant indie music scene, she has performed both as a solo artist and in groups—including a memorable night opening for Nirvana.

Woody Bell Jr in his cowboy finery

Woody Bell “Jr”.

Woody on vocals, guitar and mandolin has spent too much time listening to old records to have done much else.
